about PH7
|
 |
PH7 was born in Paris in the 60s. His mode of artistic expression
is the collage. His Moroccan background is frequently present in his
works and open numerous tracks connected to the generation of his
parents. Strongly rooted in the Judaism and its traditions, mingling
the scents of perfumes and spices of the East, he is nevertheless
opened to multiple cultures on the look-out for movement, palpitation,
excitement.
The surrounding elements are the actors of a new bi-dimensional universe
created from fragments of life in this world, papers - manuscripts,
newspapers, calendars, tickets-, spices, textiles, and objects of
all kinds are superimposed or rather are bound with the others through
the brush of PH7, the glue.
Everyone can see a story there. The fragments of images have become
events. Objects play a role other than that which was assigned. Spices
do not any more spice the dishes, but raise the colored range. Newspapers
tell us no more stories. They are involved in it. And the set of lighting
effects stages it. America, its energy and its "melting pot"
is a pole of attraction and an important component of his work. But
PH7 evolves since his childhood in the French culture and wishes to
testify of it in his collages often based on documents covering the
entire XX th century.
Married with two children, PH7 seeks to pass on a multiple and cosmopolitan
tradition. Each composition is a kaleidoscope of fragments of past,
present and future lives, which speaks to the memory of each of us.
